IELTS Writing (Task 2)


 Ideas of writing part 2:
       Paragraphs are divided into three parts:
                         1.Introduction
                         2.Body paragraphs
                         3.Conclusion
              Mainly topics can be categories into two parts:
                                        1.Controversial 
                                        2.Non-Controversial.
   1.Now discussion about the controversial topic:

                Controversial Topic:
                          Modern technology has brought about changes in the roles of men and women.Discuss some of the changes.Do you thing these changes have been beneficial.





Introduction part divided into 
 -General statement 
 -Restatement of question
 -Thesis statement

    For example:
General statement:

Modern technology has bought about numerous changes that have influenced our Socio-economic infra-structure.Some of these are changes in the of men and women.
Restatement of question:
two form are shown here:
             On the one hand ,(Give one logic for your support).
             On the other hand,(Give one logic against for your support).

On the one hand, these changes have improved our life-style.On the other hand ,these  have caused certain social problems.

1. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Classmates are a more important influence than parents on a child’s success in school. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Writing module


In the writing module IELTS tests your ability to produce two quite different pieces of writing in a fairly short period of time. The test is divided into two parts and  one hour to complete both parts.

IELTS Writing Task 1
In the first part, you are given a task based on some graphic or pictorial information. You are expected to write a descriptive report of at least 150 words on the information provided.

IELTS Writing Task 2
The second task is more demanding. You are expected to produce a written argument on a given topic and to organise your answer clearly, given some examples to support your points. You will have to write at least 250 words and, as Task 2 is longer than Task 1, you are advised to spend approximately 40 minutes on this task and 20 minutes on the first task.

IELTS General Writing
If you are planning to take the GT module, the Writing test is different. You are allowed one hour to complete two tasks, of 150 and 250 words, as in the Academic module. However, Task 1 is always a letter, while Task 2 is an essay based on a given topic.



 Rules and other information:

You should follow the rules of writing to get good scores:
The general rules would be
1. Object (eg a cycle is shown & various parts are
   labeled)
2. Process (eg the various ways in which solar   
   energy is used)
3. Data; (graphs of all types eg line graph, bar graph, pie charts, tables etc)
 
For data one have to write;
1. Introduction (what it is about do not copy the question what. Use your imagination & write in your own words what the data is about)
2. Then in the next Para write three things, this is very important.
   The three things are General trend, Comparisons, differences.
3. In the last Para write conclusion.

In addition, some more other information 
Use pencil to write & take with you a new good quality eraser & sharpener. Write at least twenty words more than required. This way examiner gets an idea that you are confident & can write.




IELTS Writing (Task 1)

The chart and graph below give information about sales and share prices for Coca-Cola.
Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.
  •    You should write at least 150 words. 
  • You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. 

Model answer:
             
                The pie chart depicts the percentage of sales of Coca-cola in the year 2000.The line chart shows the change in share prices between 1996 and 2001.

                  From  overall point of view,in the year 2000, Coca-cola sold at a total of 17.16 billion case of their fizzy drink world wide.And since 1996 share prices for Coca-cola have fluctuated.



2. The chart below gives information about global sales of games software, CDs and DVD or video. Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information.
